Critical Care Float Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Critical Care Float Registered Nurse to join our float pool staff. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work throughout the hospital, including multiple departments such as the Emergency Department, Medical-Surgical, Telemetry, and Stepdown/PCU.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients across various units.
• Float to different departments as needed, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
• Maintain patient ratios of up to 1:6 in Medical-Surgical units.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Scheduling Information

• Shift: Night shifts consisting of 3×12 hours (19:00 – 07:00).
• Weekend: Every other weekend required.
• On-call: Not required.
• Block scheduling requests are not accepted; candidates must be flexible.

Holiday Requirements

Travelers are expected to work during major holidays as follows:

• If one major holiday falls within the assignment period, one is expected to work it.
• If two major holidays fall within the assignment, both will be required.
• If three major holidays fall during the assignment, two must be worked.

Major holidays include:

• Memorial Day
• Independence Day
• Labor Day
• Thanksgiving/Black Friday
• Christmas Eve/Christmas Day
• New Year’s Eve/New Year’s Day

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required.
• First-time travelers are accepted.
• Full compliance required to start on time; any delays in compliance may result in a two-week pushback due to orientation schedules.

Additional Information

Local candidates are accepted at the same rate. The number of non-billable orientation hours will be determined based on the length of the assignment (e.g., 8 hours for an 8-week assignment).
