Registered Nurse (RN)

Job & Shift Details

The position requires a Registered Nurse to work in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) with the following specifics:

• Shift: Nights (6 PM – 6:30 AM)
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Two winter holidays

Unit Information

The PCU encompasses 24 beds with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3-4. The unit experiences a variety of patient needs, requiring diverse skills and competencies.

• Common Diagnoses: Pneumonia, ARDS, Covid-19, hypertension urgency, angina, cardiac catheterization patients, alcohol withdrawal
• Required Skills: PCU experience, titrating drips (Amiodarone, Diltiazem, Dopamine, Nitroglycerin, Lasix, Dobutamine)
• Support Staff: Nurse aids present with a ratio of 1:10
• Monitoring: Remote monitor technicians are available; RNs are required to read strips
• Respiratory Equipment: CPAP, BiPAP, high-flow oxygen

Orientation & Training

New hires will undergo a comprehensive orientation consisting of 12 hours specific to the unit.

Certifications Required

• ACLS
• BLS Certification
• NIHSS

Additional Notes

There is a possibility of floating within multiple locations in the region. Standby may be required if there is extra staffing. On-site parking is available for staff.
