Medical/Surgical Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Medical/Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic team. This role is essential for providing exceptional care to patients with a wide range of surgical and medical conditions.

Unit Details

• Beds: 34
• Staffing Ratios: 1 RN to 9 patients across all shifts
• Special Procedures: Utilizes a care delivery model with 1 RN, 1 LPN, and 1 PCT per 9 patients
• Floats required to other medical/surgical units
• Weekend coverage required every other weekend or a total of 4 weekend shifts per month
• Accepts first-time travelers
• Special Equipment: Equipped with wall suction for patients requiring suction

Patient Care Focus

This unit primarily cares for surgical patients, including those undergoing:

• Joint replacements (hip, knee, shoulder)
• General surgeries (appendectomies, exploratory laparotomies, hernia repairs)

Patients of all ages, from adolescents to the elderly, are treated on this unit. The unit also handles medical patients requiring telemetry monitoring.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications are mandatory
• Previous charge nurse experience is preferred
• Local candidates are not accepted; must live more than 75 miles from the unit

Attire

Scrubs should be in any combination of navy blue and/or white.
