Registered Nurse (RN) – Acute Care / Medical Surgical

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to provide exceptional care in an Acute Care / Medical Surgical environment with telemetry. This role focuses on delivering high-quality nursing services during the night shift.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver patient-centered care in a medical surgical unit with telemetry.
• Conduct nursing assessments and initiate IV starts.
• Monitor patients’ vital signs and manage telemetry as per established guidelines.
• Collaborate effectively with healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes.
• Provide care for patients in progressive care and swing bed settings as needed.

Job Details

• Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
• Duration: 13 weeks.
• Holiday Requirements: Every other holiday, with a maximum of 48 hours of requested time off during the 13-week commitment.
• Patient Ratio: 1 nurse to 6 patients for acute care, 1 nurse to 10 patients for swing beds.
• Facility Size: 40 licensed beds with 10 swing beds.
• Monthly Department Volume: Average daily census of 10 patients.

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure in the state of practice.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification is preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience preferred.
• Experience with IV starts, nursing assessments, telemetry monitoring, and potentially ICU drips.
• Familiarity with Cerner electronic medical records (EMR) is preferred.

Additional Information

Scrub color required for this position is navy blue. Floating to other departments is not required, and blocked scheduling is available.
