Acute Travel Registered Nurse (RN): Operating Room

We are seeking an experienced Acute Travel Registered Nurse to provide exceptional care within the Operating Room, specifically in Open Heart Surgery. The ideal candidate must possess advanced skills and experience in various surgical procedures.

Position Overview

The position includes Monday through Friday shifts with weekday and weekend call requirements. You will also float to the main Operating Room as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist in a variety of surgical procedures, including CABG, thoracoscopies, and lung resections.
• Provide direct patient care during open heart procedures and collaborate with the surgical team.
• Participate in on-call coverage to address urgent surgical cases as required.
• Manage patient care and serve in various roles within the surgical team.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment in compliance with healthcare protocols.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an acute care setting, with a focus on open heart surgery.
• Proficient in CABG (on and off pump), TAVR, and open valve replacements.
• Preferred experience in robotic lung surgery and charge nurse roles.
• Current certifications in ACLS, BLS, and CPI/HWC required.
• Experience with Epic electronic health record (EHR) system is advantageous.

Patient Care Profile

• Serves patients of varying ages, from pediatrics to geriatrics.
• Manages a patient ratio of 1:1 in the surgical setting.

Additional Information

• Orientation is held weekly on Mondays.
• This role may require floating to the main Operating Room based on departmental needs.
• Position involves regular participation in call rotations; cases during this time are infrequent.
