Medical Surgical/Tele Observation Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a Medical Surgical/Tele Observation unit. This position involves providing high-quality patient care, monitoring, and oversight in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients in a Medical Surgical environment with telemetry capabilities.
• Monitor patient vital signs and recognize changes in patient conditions.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Document nursing assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and in a timely manner.
• Float to various Medical Surgical units and provide care for patients in need of overflow services from the ICU as required.

Shift Information

• 12-hour night shifts.
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week with no cancellations.
• Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:5 days; 1:6 nights; 1:4 pediatric – based on patient acuity.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Medical Surgical acute care setting.
• Current certifications in ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), and NIHSS required; PALS certification preferred.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment with support staff, including telemetry technicians, charge nurses, healthcare unit coordinators, and patient care technicians.
• Flexibility to adapt to diverse patient needs and dynamic work environments.

Additional Information

• Scrubs are required and can be of any color; scrubs are not provided.
• Management staff conduct regular rounds but do not provide direct patient care.
