Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Overview

The Emergency Room (ER) is seeking experienced Registered Nurses to join our dynamic team. This position involves working in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment where you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care.

Shift Details

• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Shift Times: Days from 6 AM to 6 PM
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Rotation: Participation in holiday shifts is required

Unit Information

The ER consists of:

• 28 beds, including 4 fast track rooms and 2 trauma bays
• Average patient volume: 155 patients per day
• Common diagnoses: trauma, stroke, pediatric, psychiatric

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an Emergency Room setting
• Experience with high volume and high acuity patients is essential
• Experience in Level II trauma centers or above is preferred
• Travel experience is an advantage

Required Certifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
• COVID-19 vaccination (certification required)
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Curriculum) is preferred

Additional Information

• Proctored Dysrhythmia Test on the first day of employment (pass/fail)
• No floating between units
• Self-scheduling based on seniority with shifts created at least 2 weeks in advance
• 2-3 shifts of floor-specific orientation will be provided
• Charge Nurse available, who does not take patient assignments
• Navy scrubs are required
• 24/7 access to hospitalists and intensivists
• Respiratory therapy and pharmacy services available 24/7
• Potential call requirements of one day per month
