Registered Nurse (RN)
Position Overview
This position involves working three 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with a requirement to float between various locations as needed. The role includes working every third weekend and holidays as necessary. A minimum of one year of nursing experience is required, and first-time travelers will not be considered. Acute care rehabilitation experience is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform assessment and manage care for patients with conditions such as CVA, TBI, ABI, spinal cord injuries, neurological disorders, and generalized debility in an inpatient rehabilitation setting.
- Conduct vital signs monitoring including blood pressure, respirations, temperature, and pulse.
- Interpret laboratory results and engage in medication reconciliation procedures.
- Manage patient health questionnaires, history-taking, and allergy assessment.
- Carry out dressing changes and assist in setting up aseptic/sterile procedure trays.
- Perform capillary blood tests, label specimens, and conduct throat and urine tests including UA clean catch and phlebotomy.
- Engage in telephone triage and manage pharmacy calls/patient refill requests.
Patient Care
The patient-to-nurse ratio is typically 1:6, with some instances where a nurse may manage up to 7 patients, maintaining equivalent acuity levels.
Qualifications
- Must hold a valid Registered Nurse license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
- Experience with EPIC or similar electronic health record systems.
- At least one year of nursing experience in a relevant field.
- Acute care rehab experience is strongly preferred.
