Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP)

Job Description

Speech and Language Pathologists (SLPs) play a vital role in developing treatment plans aimed at enhancing swallowing, cognitive, and communication abilities while minimizing aspirations. The communication treatment plans crafted by SLPs employ techniques designed to improve not only the individual’s ability to be understood, but also their capacity to comprehend others.

SLPs lead, guide, and direct the delivery of speech language pathology and audiology services in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as established facility policies and procedures. The primary goal is to provide appropriate care and services to residents in long-term care settings.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate resident needs and develop personalized treatment plans.
• Implement evidence-based interventions to improve communication and swallowing functions.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive resident care.
• Monitor and document resident progress and modify treatment plans as necessary.
• Educate residents and families on communication strategies and swallowing techniques.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Speech and Language Pathologist.
• Current licensure to practice as a Speech and Language Pathologist in Texas.

Work Schedule

This position requires an 8-hour day shift, guaranteeing 40 hours per week. There are no weekend or on-call requirements.
