Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) to join our dynamic team in the Emergency Department. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in providing high-quality care to patients in critical conditions.

Shift Details

• Schedule: Night shift, 4 x 12-hour shifts (19:00 – 07:30)
• Weekend Requirement: Must work 3 weekends (Friday to Sunday) per 4-week schedule

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered care in a fast-paced emergency room environment.
• Manage and interpret dysrhythmias effectively.
• Utilize EPIC charting for patient documentation.
• Assist in resuscitation and stabilization of patients in critical condition.
• Participate in procedural sedation and continuous IV sedation administration.
• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Required Certifications:
  • Current state nursing license
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Basic Life Support (BCLS) by AHA
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
  • Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) – Preferred
  • National Institutes of Health (NIH) Stroke Scale Certification
• Minimum of 2 years of Level I trauma experience required.
• Experience in patient triage preferred.
• Ability to manage high patient ratios (1:5-6, potentially up to 8 during peak times).

This role requires a dedicated and resilient nurse who can thrive in high-pressure situations and maintain a compassionate approach to patient care. The Emergency Department also serves as a Level 1 Trauma Center, Stroke Center, and Pediatric Emergency Department.
