Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Emergency Department Registered Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in emergency nursing, be proficient in rhythm identification, and exhibit excellent clinical skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the Emergency Department.
• Monitor and interpret patient vital signs and rhythm patterns.
• Respond to medical emergencies and triage patients based on the severity of their conditions.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop patient care plans.
• Document all patient interactions and care provided using EPIC charting system.
• Assist in the mentorship and training of other nursing staff.
• Float to other areas as needed based on skills and facility requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of current Emergency Department experience.
• Active New York State RN License.
• BLS, PALS, and NIH certification required.
• Minimal request for time off (RTO) of 7 days or less.
• Proficient in telemetry and have experience with Omnicell medication system.
• Must pass a hospital-proctored rhythm identification test with >80% accuracy and 100% accuracy in identifying critical rhythms.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• ACLS certification.
• Experience in triage and working in a Level 1 trauma center.

Requirements

• Must be willing to adhere to a no-locals policy, with a radius limit of 50 miles from the facility’s location.
• Flu vaccine required by November 1st. Medical or religious exemptions must be submitted 2 weeks prior to start date for approval.

Work Schedule

• Nights: 3×12-Hour shifts (19:00 – 07:30).
