Operating Room Nurse (RN)

The Operating Room Nurse plays a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care in the operating room environment. This position requires critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and leadership abilities, as the Registered Nurse collaborates with a diverse surgical team to ensure successful surgical outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the operating room, ensuring that all necessary supplies and equipment are available and operational.
• Scrub and assist surgeons during surgical procedures, adhering to all safety and regulatory standards.
• Communicate effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other team members to facilitate smooth workflow and patient care.
• Update physician preference cards and ensure timely execution of surgical cases.
• Provide support and updates to patients’ families as needed.
• Oversee and supervise personnel delivering patient care within the operating room setting.

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure in New Mexico.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in an operating room setting.
• Required expertise in surgical services such as orthopedics, gynecology, ophthalmology, and endoscopy.
• Prior travel nursing experience is a must.
