Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

The primary position will be within the Rehabilitation unit, with the possibility of floating to Medical/Surgical units as needed. This role requires a dedicated nursing professional to deliver exceptional care to patients while promoting a culture of well-being.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Support and promote the mission and values of the organization.
• Provide professional nursing care to patients within the assigned unit, executing orders from the responsible provider.
• Ensure comprehensive clinical documentation, including care plans, is completed each shift.
• Engage in feedback discussions regarding nursing practice and take appropriate actions.
• Communicate essential patient information effectively to ensure safety and continuity of care through Bedside shift report, Multidisciplinary rounds, and Hourly Rounding (AIDET).
• Maintain compliance with unit-specific competencies and requirements, completing all necessary net learning modules within the specified timeframe.
• Contribute to a positive departmental culture and environment during each shift.
• Ensure a safe and secure setting for patients, visitors, and staff by adhering to established protocols.
• Identify and assist in rectifying any patient care safety issues.
• Work within a Just Culture Environment to encourage error reporting and the adoption of safe practices.
• Participate in daily unit-based safety huddles.
• Stay informed about unit-specific nurse-sensitive indicators (such as CAUTI, CLABSI, CDIFF, etc.) and actively engage in quality initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
• Collaborate with nursing colleagues in other departments to utilize expertise across various clinical areas.
• Assist other team members and participate in the development of performance goals based on self-assessment and feedback.
• Ensure patient education materials are culturally competent and appropriate for diverse patient backgrounds.
• Act as a preceptor for new nurses and assist with preparations for accreditation survey readiness.
• Demonstrate practices consistent with shared governance principles and the overall philosophy of the organization.
• Help identify solutions in response to problems and conflicts, while effectively delegating tasks to appropriate nursing personnel.
• Collaborate with nursing students and instructors to enhance learning experiences.
• Engage in peer feedback processes during annual reviews and participate in employee engagement surveys.
• Manage use of Earned Time Off (ETO) according to policy and complete required training and certifications, including Basic Life Support.

Job Requirements

• Current RN license in New Hampshire is mandatory.
• Basic Life Support certification is required.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program preferred.
• Basic Dysrhythmia knowledge is preferred or must be obtained during orientation.
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training is preferred or must be completed during orientation.
