Acute Care Physical Therapist

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Acute Care Physical Therapist to join our team in a hospital setting, focusing on both inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation. This position is critical in providing high-quality care for patients in an acute care environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients’ physical therapy needs.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aimed at improving patient mobility and overall function.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to assess patient progress and modify treatment as necessary.
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans and exercises to facilitate recovery.
• Document patient care activities in accordance with departmental standards using Epic electronic health record system.

Qualifications

• Must possess previous experience in an acute care setting.
• A valid license to practice physical therapy in Virginia is required; temporary license acceptable if holder has a valid license from another state.
• Proficiency in using the Epic electronic health record system is mandatory.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with patients and healthcare teams.

Schedule

This position requires a full-time commitment of five 8-hour shifts per week, primarily Monday through Friday, during the daytime hours.
