Registered Nurse (RN) – MS/Tele

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) with expertise in Medical/Surgical and Telemetry to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care, telemetry monitoring, and relevant nursing protocols. This role requires flexibility, as staff may be assigned to work in challenging situations, including storm or hurricane response.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and provide care to patients with a variety of health conditions, including dementia, diabetes, COVID-19, pneumonia, and sepsis.
• Utilize telemetry for remote monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias.
• Administer IV insulin protocols and manage blood products, central lines, and peripheral line care.
• Provide pre and post hemodialysis management, feeding tube care, and colostomy care.
• Engage in emergency response situations, following protocols for mass casualty or disasters.
• Collaborate effectively with the Rapid Response Team and other healthcare professionals.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a Medical/Surgical or Telemetry setting.
• First-time travelers welcome; local candidates accepted.
• Must hold current BCLS certification.
• Successful completion of EKG testing is required prior to start.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in management of dysrhythmias and telemetry monitoring.
• Knowledge of accessing ports, managing insulin protocols, and understanding ABG interpretation.
• Familiarity with EPIC documentation system.

Work Schedule

• Shift: 12-hour nights.
• Contract lengths of 13 to 26 weeks are accepted.
• Floating between units may be required based on patient care needs.

Patient Care Scope

Patients may present with a range of diagnoses, including but not limited to dementia, diabetes, pneumonia, COPD, and GI bleed. Additionally, there is a designated area for COVID-19 patient care.

Unit Orientation

A comprehensive orientation will be provided, including a 24-hour unit-specific training and a hospital orientation in the first week, requiring daily attendance for classes.

Attire

Navy and white scrubs are required.
