Registered Nurse (RN) – MS/Tele

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) with experience in Medical-Surgical and Telemetry to join an Acute Care for the Elderly (ACE) unit. This role focuses on providing exceptional care to patients aged 65 and older, ensuring their safety, comfort, and recovery.

Position Details

• Shift Hours: Night shifts, 3×12-hour shifts (19:00 – 07:30)
• Contract Length: 13 to 26 weeks
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Call Off Policy: The facility can call off 1 shift every 2 weeks.
• Accepting First-Time Travelers: Yes
• Locals Accepted: Yes, with radius rule restrictions.
• Active License Required: Must possess an active South Carolina or multistate nursing license.

Required Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)

Required Clinical Skills

• Experience in Medical-Surgical/Telemetry nursing
• IV starts and blood product administration
• Central, peripheral, and PICC line management
• Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Remote telemetry monitoring
• Familiarity with heparin protocols and telemetry-capable care
• Proficient in geriatric-focused care

Unit Details

The Acute Care for the Elderly (ACE) unit consists of 26 beds and specializes in providing telemetry-capable care to older patients. Staffed by Geriatric Resource Nurses and specialized nursing staff, the focus is on preserving cognitive and physical functions to facilitate recovery and improve patient outcomes.

Additional Information

• Patient Ratios: 1 nurse to 5 patients
• Floating Policy: While the priority is to maintain staff within their designated unit, agency staff may be required to float to other areas based on qualifications and documented competencies.
