ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced Intensive Care Unit. This position offers a unique opportunity to provide exceptional patient care in a supportive environment. Below are the details regarding the role, requirements, and working conditions.

Job Details

• Shift: Nights (6 PM – 6 AM)
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holidays: Rotate with permanent staff

Unit Information

• Unit Type: ICU (Intensive Care Unit)
• Bed Capacity: 11 private rooms
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratios: 1:1 to 1:2
• Electronic Medical Records: Cerner
• Common Diagnoses/Patient Types: Open heart surgery, general surgery, SWAN catheters, ventilated patients, chest tubes, arterial lines, CRRT, Impella devices, STEMIs, and strokes

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a critical care setting required; travel experience preferred.
• Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in management of chest tubes, arterial lines, and SWAN catheters required.

Additional Information

• Support Staff: Charge nurse available (will take a small patient load), no nurse aides on the unit.
• Floating: May float to Telemetry (1:4) or Medical-Surgical units (1:5).
• Orientation: Floor-specific orientation will consist of 2 shifts.
• Respiratory Therapy: Available 24/7.
• Pharmacy: Limited availability; night shift nurses may need to mix medications.
