Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Room

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Room (ER) team. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills and be committed to providing exceptional patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Shift Details

• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours per week
• Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirements: Worked into the permanent staff rotation

Unit Information

• Unit Type: ER (Emergency Room)
• Trauma Level: Level III
• Special Designations: STEMI and Stroke Receiving Center
• Average Patient Volume: 70 patients per day
• Nurse to Patient Ratio: 1:3-4 depending on acuity
• Number of Beds: 18 including 4 critical rooms

Essential Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Emergency Room.
• Utilize advanced clinical skills for the assessment and management of emergency conditions.
• Conduct Triage as needed, with support available for travelers.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Participate in education and mentoring of new staff as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an Emergency Room setting.
• Required Certifications:
  • ACLS (AHA)
  • BLS (AHA)
  • NIHSS
  • PALS (AHA)
  • TNCC
• Must have Epic experience for an upcoming system conversion.

Additional Information

• Call-outs are strongly discouraged and may lead to termination.
• Refer to clinical prescreenings for any required documentation during the application process.
• Nurses will not be responsible for setting up placements for psychiatric patients; this will be managed by designated staff.
• Orientation will be provided based on experience; typically 1-3 shifts are allocated.
• RNs are responsible for interpretation of EKGs in the absence of monitor technicians.
