Med Surg/Peds Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a dedicated Med Surg/Peds Registered Nurse (RN) to join our healthcare team. Job Details

• Unit Type: Med Surg (Medical Surgical)
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Required Certifications: BLS Certification, PALS
• Nurse to Patient Ratios: Days: 1:4, Nights: 1:5
• Common Patient Diagnoses: UTI, altered mental status, pneumonia, COPD
• Common Equipment: Bipap managed primarily by respiratory therapy
• Orientation: 1-12 hour shift, or alternate day and night orientation as needed
• Scrub Color: Navy blue

Responsibilities

The RN will provide comprehensive nursing care for both adult and pediatric patients, ensuring a safe and effective environment. Key responsibilities include:

• Collaborating with team members to provide high-quality patient care.
• Assisting in the management and application of telemetry monitoring equipment.
• Floating to other departments as needed, including the emergency department and ICU for one-on-one patient care.
• Working alongside nurse aides and patient care technicians to support patient needs.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of nursing experience in a med-surg or pediatric setting preferred but not required.
• Ability to work days and weekends as necessary.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative attitude.

Additional Notes

This role does not involve clinical responsibilities with pediatric patients managed by hospitalists. Successful candidates will display strong teamwork capabilities and a proactive approach to patient care.
