Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic team. This role involves providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced emergency room environment. The position requires a commitment to excellence in patient assessments, triage, and collaboration with fellow healthcare professionals.

Shift Details

• Shift Type: Nights
• Shift Length: 12 Hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Yes

Unit Information

• Unit Type: Emergency Room (ER)
• Number of Beds/Trauma Bays: 21
• Average Daily Patients: 109
• Nurse to Patient Ratio: 4:1
• Common Patient Diagnoses: Primarily trauma, Code Neuro, and transfers for STEMIs

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments and triage for patients entering the emergency department.
• Provide direct care to patients, including administering treatments and managing critical drips.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Monitor patients’ conditions, document care provided, and report changes to appropriate personnel.
• Educate patients and families on treatment options and care plans.
• Assist in maintaining a safe and efficient environment for patient care.

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years in an emergency department setting.
• Required Certifications: RN, ACLS, BLS, TNCC, PALS (or ENPC), NIHSS preferred.
• Skills: Proficiency in managing emergency conditions, administering critical drips, and performing ECGs. Experience working with geriatric populations is a plus.

• Unit orientation will be provided to ensure a thorough understanding of departmental protocols.
• This position may require occasional floating to different areas within the unit as needed.
• In-house security is available for the safety of staff and patients.
