Respiratory Therapist
Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Respiratory Therapist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in critical care and be comfortable executing a variety of respiratory therapy procedures in a fast-paced environment.
Shift Information
- Shift: Nights (7 PM – 7 AM)
- Schedule: Friday to Sunday
- Shift Length: 12 hours
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
Qualifications
- Must hold a minimum of 2 years of experience in Respiratory Therapy
- Critical Care experience required
- Documented experience with 300+ bed facilities
- Must have completed at least one travel contract
- RRT credentialing required
- Required Certifications:
- BLS Certification
- ACLS Certification
- Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) via NBRC
- PALS Certification
- NRP Certification (if applicable to NICU)
Responsibilities
- Conduct all respiratory therapy duties including but not limited to: nebulizer treatments, airway management, vapotherm, BiPAP, CPAP, ventilator management, ABG collection, bedside pulmonary function tests, and chest physiotherapy.
- In the ICU, conduct advanced procedures including placing arterial lines, managing blood gas analyses, and performing intubations and bronchoscopy as needed.
- Respond rapidly to critical situations, confident in airway interventions and ventilator management.
- Manage a high volume of patients, averaging 13-15 patients and 550 treatment minutes per shift.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians and nursing staff, to deliver optimal patient care.
Working Environment
- Therapists will engage with a variety of patient populations, including adults, pediatrics, and neonates.
- Rotation of holiday responsibilities with permanent staff members is required.
- No call requirements.
- Charge RT roles available, with responsibilities as a clinical coordinator.
- Scrub color will be ceil blue, with the option to wear a ceil blue jacket.
- EMR System: Meditech.
Additional Information
Orientation includes a comprehensive training schedule to ensure competence in unit assignments and charting. New hires will experience a gradual increase in workload during the orientation period.
