Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery

Job Description

A Registered Nurse is needed to work in Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Newborn care settings. This role involves assisting with an average of 40 deliveries per month, including approximately 6 cesarean sections monthly. The nurse may occasionally cover charge nurse duties after receiving appropriate training.

Experience

Candidates must possess a minimum of five (5) years of recent experience in Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Newborn care within a healthcare setting. In some cases, additional experience may be required.

Required Certifications

• American Heart Association ACLS or ALSO
• BLS
• NRP
• AWHONN Advanced FHM (RNC-EFM may be substituted for AWHONN FHM)

Other Requirements

Traveling nurses may be expected to float to other departments where they are qualified. Duties may include taking a patient load if the nurse is experienced and competent, as well as performing task-oriented responsibilities such as answering call lights or phones.

Shift Information

This position requires a 12-hour night shift. Flexibility to work day shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed is mandatory.

Holiday coverage is required.
