Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Acute Care team in the Medical Surgical Unit. The ideal candidate will demonstrate professionalism and provide high-quality patient care while working collaboratively with the healthcare team.

Job Details

• Unit Type: Medical Surgical
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours per week
• Shift Timing: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Experience Required: 1 year in a similar role with at least one travel assignment
• Patient Ratios: 1:5, possibly 1:6
• Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirements: As needed

Qualifications

• Certification Requirements:
  • BLS (AHA)
  • NIHSS
• Experience with EMR: Meditech preferred but not mandatory
• Floating: Required to cover all acute care and cardiovascular units as needed

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse will be responsible for delivering patient-centered care, managing patient needs, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams. Duties include monitoring patient conditions, administering medications, and ensuring adherence to established protocols.

Orientation and Training

• General Orientation: 1 week (includes EMR training)
• Unit-Specific Orientation: 2 days

Additional Information

• Nurse Aides: Available with a ratio of 1:8 to 1:10
• Scrub Color: Caribbean Blue
• Telemedicine: Available but monitored on a different unit
