Sleep Study Technician

Shift Information

Nights (1830 – 0700) every weekend

Experience Required

• A minimum of 1 year of experience in polysomnography, neurodiagnostics, or respiratory therapy.

Certifications/Requirements

• Current unencumbered Oregon Polysomnographic Technologist (PSGT) License required upon submission.
• Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) certification through the BRPT required.
• Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Job Summary/Purpose

The Sleep Study Technician performs patient set-ups for overnight sleep testing and records overnight polysomnographic (PSG) and video recordings of patients’ sleep activity for diagnostic evaluation. This role involves communication and coordination of activities with the Sleep Lab Section leader/supervisor, as well as administering sleep medications in accordance with established policies.

Department Description

The Sleep Center provides patients with various diagnostic tests to detect a wide range of sleep disturbances and neurological-related disorders.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an American Medical Association (AMA) approved college program or a minimum of one year of relevant experience.
• Possession of a valid Oregon Polysomnographic Technologist (PSGT) License at the time of application.
• Certification as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) through the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification as a Healthcare Provider.
