Critical Care Float Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Critical Care Float Registered Nurse to join our float pool staff. This role requires flexibility as you will float throughout various units, including the Emergency Department, ER hold, Medical Surgical, Telemetry, and Stepdown/PCU.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent patient care across multiple departments as needed.
• Maintain appropriate patient-to-nurse ratios, typically up to 1:6 in Med-Surg.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure quality patient outcomes.
• Adapt to diverse patient populations and clinical scenarios.

Schedule Requirements

This is a float pool position that requires the following:

• Availability to work every other weekend.
• Complete flexibility regarding scheduling; block schedule requests are not permitted.
• Work during major holidays as needed, with expectations outlined below:
• If assigned during one major holiday, work is expected.
• If assigned during two major holidays, work is expected for both.
• If assigned during three major holidays, work is expected for two of them.
• Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve/New Year’s Day.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required.
• First-time travelers are accepted.
• Must meet compliance requirements to ensure timely start.

Additional Information

Compliance is full and mandatory for timely onboarding. Non-compliance may result in a delay of up to two weeks due to the bi-weekly orientation schedule. Local candidates are accepted at the same rate. The number of non-billable orientation hours is determined by the contract length.

Shift Details

This position operates on the night shift, 3×12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00.
