Post-Partum Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Post-Partum Registered Nurse (RN) for a night shift position. This role will involve providing high-quality care to mothers and their newborns in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional nursing care to postpartum patients and their infants.
• Monitor and assess the health and condition of mothers and newborns.
• Educate and support new parents regarding infant care and postpartum recovery.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure comprehensive care.
• Participate in the orientation and training of new staff as required.
• Adhere to all safety and regulatory guidelines and practices.

Shift Details

• Shift Type: 12-hour Nights
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend Requirement: 4 shifts in a 4-week period
• Holidays: 1 major and 1 minor holiday per year

Unit Information

• Unit Type: Mother Baby (Post Partum)
• Postpartum Beds: 18 beds
• Average Births: Approximately 130 births per month
• Cesarean Sections: 40-60 per month
• Patient Ratios: 4:1 couplets
• Orientation: 2 shifts specific to the floor
• Common Diagnoses: High-risk antepartum patients, including hypertension and those delivering down to 23 weeks

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of prior experience in Post-Partum care; travel experience preferred.
• Required Certifications: BLS Certification, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program).
• Preferred Certifications: ACLS.
• Experience with EMR systems; familiarity with Cerner is a plus.

Additional Information

• Float Requirements: Will float to L&D only if background in NICU as feeder/grower.
• Telehealth: Not applicable; transports out as needed.
• Support Services: Respiratory Therapy and Pharmacy are available 24/7.
