Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor and Delivery

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Labor and Delivery team. This position is suitable for first-time travelers who meet the experience requirements. The role involves providing quality care in a dynamic environment, including responsibilities across Post Partum and Nursery units.

Unit Details

• Beds: 24
• Census: 150-180 births per month
• Staffing Ratios: 1:2
• Patient Population: Neonates, Adolescents, Adults
• Shift: 3×12 Days
• Float Required: Yes – Post Partum, Nursery
• Weekends: 5 to 6 per 6-week period

Schedule and Call Requirements

• Call Required: Yes, 1 per 2 weeks
• Scheduling: 6-week schedules available at a time
• Call Shifts: Travelers will be informed of call shifts that are already scheduled at the start of their contract. Additional call shifts can be volunteered for as needed.

Essential Certifications

• ACLS
• AWHONN Advanced
• BCLS
• NRP

Experience and Skills Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Experience: 3 years preferred; consideration for candidates with 2-2.5 years experience with extensive travel history.
• Labor and Delivery/Antepartum Experience: Required.
• Skills:
  • Newborn Care
  • Administering Magnesium and Pitocin
  • Performing SVE and Circulation
  • Post Partum Care
  • Heel Stick and Monitoring Hyperbilirubinemia
  • Transcutaneous Bilirubin (TCB) and Total Serum Bilirubin (TSB) procedures
  • Providing Discharge Instructions and Car Seat Education
  • Blood Transfusions and Assisting in Circumcision Care
