Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

This role requires a Registered Nurse with Med-Surg/Telemetry experience, specifically for a surgical specialty unit. The position entails working night shifts and includes floating to other units as needed. Weekend coverage is also required, occurring every other weekend but may vary based on operational needs.

Patient Population and Unit Details

• 30 non-cardiac monitored bed unit specializing in Vascular and Urology patient populations.
• Average patient length of stay is 1-2 days.
• Receives patients from various sources, including PACU, ICU, and ED.
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5 on both day and night shifts.
• Support staff available on both shifts to assist RNs.

Responsibilities

• Manage a patient load of 5-6 Med-Surg patients.
• Perform dressing changes and provide care for patients with wound vacs and drains.
• Ensure all tasks are within scope and competencies have been demonstrated.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of MS/Telemetry experience.
• Certification in ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS is required.
• Experience with Epic EMR is required (at least 1 year).
• Must hold an active Registered Nurse license in South Carolina.
• Experience in Urology and Vascular specialties is preferred.

Floating Policy

Due to operational needs, floating to other units is required. Travelers will only float to units they are qualified for, performing tasks for which competencies have been previously demonstrated and documented.
