MRI Technologist

Job Overview

The MRI Technologist will be responsible for conducting magnetic resonance imaging procedures in a fast-paced environment. This role requires the ability to perform a diverse range of MRI exams on various patient types including inpatients, outpatients, and those under sedation or anesthesia. The candidate must work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Shift Details

This position operates on a night shift schedule from 7:30 PM to 6:00 AM, Monday through Thursday. Flexibility for weekend shifts and additional overnight shifts as needed is expected.

Responsibilities

• Perform MRI examinations on patients of all ages, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
• Work collaboratively with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure quality patient care.
• Manage a daily caseload of approximately 50 patients, prioritizing tasks effectively in a busy environment.
• Utilize PACS for image management and maintain accurate patient records using Epic software.
• Administer contrast media and perform IV starts as necessary.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as an MRI Technologist, specifically with Siemens equipment.
• Proven ability to work in both outpatient and inpatient settings, including emergency and trauma scenarios.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) required.
• Experience in a Level I Trauma or Teaching Hospital setting preferred.

Additional Requirements

Candidates must be capable of multitasking in a high-volume MRI department and be adaptable to varying patient needs, including those who are vented, sedated, or under anxiolysis. Collaborative teamwork is essential along with the ability to operate independently when required.
