Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Flex Pool team. This role will involve floating between various medical and surgical units as needed, offering a dynamic and diverse work experience.

Shift Information

• Shift: 12-hour shifts – Days (0645 to 1915)
• Scheduled Hours: 36 hours per week following the first week of orientation. Please note that there is no guarantee of hours.

Qualifications

• Minimum Years of Experience: 2 years
• Required Certifications:
  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • Preferred: PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, ENPC
• Licensure: Candidates must have an active State of HI nursing license by the start of the assignment.

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse in this role will be responsible for:

• Providing patient care in medical and surgical units.
• Administering medications and treatments as per protocols.
• Collaborating with healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Utilizing Meditech EMR, Pyxis, wound vacs, and managing chest tubes.

Unit/Department Information

• Common Units:
  • Medical Unit
  • Laulima Unit (Surgical Acute)
  • Cardiovascular Unit (on rare occasions)
• Bed Capacity:
  • Medical – 77 beds
  • Laulima – 18 beds
  • Cardiovascular – 15 beds
• Nurse to Patient Ratios:
  • Medical: 1:6 for days and evenings, 1:8 for nights
  • Laulima: 1:6
  • Cardiovascular: 1:4

Dress Code

Professional nursing attire is required, including clean scrubs.

Training and Orientation

Orientation time is provided for each unit to ensure a smooth transition into the role.
