Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and versatile Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Float Team. This role requires the ability to adapt to various patient populations and units, including ER boarded patients, telemetry, and medical-surgical settings. The team is responsible for ensuring adequate staffing for varying unit needs across the institution.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients across multiple units.
• Work collaboratively with LPNs and CNAs to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Float to assist in units based on current needs and acuity level.
• Manage staffing, bed flow, and general coordination of care in small units, performing charge nurse duties when required.
• Maintain effective communication with healthcare team members and patients.
• Ensure accurate and comprehensive documentation of patient care using the EPIC charting system.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience in the United States is mandatory; Canadian experience is not qualifying.
• Charge nurse experience is required for this role.
• Familiarity with patient care in acute care settings.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Work Schedule

This position requires a 3×12-hour day shift, running from 07:00 to 19:30. Flexibility in scheduling is necessary to meet the needs of the institution.

Additional Information

The nurse-to-patient ratio may vary from 1:4 to 1:6 based on unit acuity. This role may also involve charge responsibilities in certain smaller units, where the sole RN assumes charge duties, including staffing oversight and care coordination.
