Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Room

Job Summary

An exciting opportunity for experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) in the Emergency Room to provide high-quality care to patients in a fast-paced environment. This position involves working night shifts, with a focus on critical patient needs and efficient emergency care.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and triage patients in the Emergency Room.
• Provide direct patient care and manage emergency situations effectively.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians and mid-level providers.
• Manage and care for patients presenting with a variety of conditions, including trauma, stroke, sepsis, congestive heart failure, and cardiac issues.
• Utilize electronic medical records effectively, particularly with the Paragon system.
• Participate in patient education and support.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an Emergency Department (ED) setting.
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, TNCC, and either PALS or ENPC.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a high patient volume (80-90 patients per day).
• Strong clinical skills with the knowledge of ECG rhythms, as registered nurses will be responsible for reading ECG strips.
• Experience with various emergency room equipment and protocols.

Work Schedule

This role involves a night shift from 7 PM to 7 AM, with a requirement to work every other weekend and holiday. Flexibility in self-scheduling is provided.

Additional Information

• Emergency Room includes 24 beds and 3 trauma bays, with a fast track area for non-critical patients.
• Security staff are present within the unit to ensure safety.
• Nurse aides and paramedics are available to assist the nursing staff in patient care.
• Orientation specific to the unit/department will be provided.
• Floating to other qualified units may be required.
