Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN)

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) to join our team in a free-standing emergency department. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care to patients in a fast-paced environment, serving a diverse patient population.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform critical assessments and triage for patients entering the emergency department.
• Administer medications and treatments as per protocols.
• Conduct procedures such as sedation and rapid sequence intubation, handling relevant drugs and equipment.
• Manage and care for various devices including drains and Port-A-Cath/Vascular devices.
• Provide specialized care such as trach management, cardiovascular interventions, and breathing treatments.
• Oversee feeding tube management and PICC line care.
• Utilize rapid infusers for critical patient needs.
• Work collaboratively with the nursing and medical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Active Compact License as a Registered Nurse.
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS.
• Extensive knowledge and experience in emergency room nursing practices.
• Ability to manage pediatric cases effectively, understanding that 15% of the patient population is pediatric.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with patients, families, and staff.

Work Schedule

This role requires commitment to 3×12-hour night shifts (19:00 – 07:30). Block schedules are available, allowing for predictable work days and times.
