Emergency Room Nurse

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Emergency Room Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. This role involves providing critical care to patients with varying medical conditions requiring immediate attention.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to emergency patients, assessing physical and psychosocial needs.
• Collaborate with medical staff to formulate and implement treatment plans.
• Monitor patient conditions and execute nursing interventions accurately.
• Assist in emergency protocols and procedures in the emergency department.
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, complications, and treatment options.
• Document patient information and care in the electronic medical record (EMR).

Shift Details

• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Shift Timing: 1:00 PM – 1:30 AM
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Floating Requirement: Potential to float between multiple locations in the region

Unit Information

• Unit Type: Emergency Room (ER)
• Number of Beds: 33 (including 2 trauma bays)
• Patient Volume: 125-140 patients per day
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 3-4:1
• Emergency Types: Stroke, STEMI, Trauma, ACS

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role required.
• Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Certification, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC.
• Must have completed at least one previous travel assignment.

• Orientation: 1-day unit-specific orientation provided.
• Scrub Color: Navy Blue (top and bottom).
• Security: Available 24/7.
• Support Services: Access to a 24/7 IV team and respiratory therapy.
• Laboratory Draws: Available on-site.
