ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse (RN) to provide exceptional care in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong critical care experience and the ability to manage multiple patient needs effectively.

Schedule

Shifts may consist of 3×12 or 4×12 hours, including every other weekend, floating, and holidays as required by the contract. Candidates have the option for 48-hour contracts with overtime billed after 48 hours.

Patient Ratios

Typical patient care ratio will be between 1:2 and 1:3.

Responsibilities

• Float to Stepdown Unit, Emergency Department, or Medical-Surgical units to care for ICU patients.
• Perform ventilator management and IV drip titration.
• Monitor telemetry and recognize and manage dysrhythmias.
• Administer conscious sedation and respond to emergency situations effectively.

Minimum Requirements

• Three years of critical care experience preferred; strong candidates with less experience may be considered.
• Previous travel experience is beneficial.
• Active Virginia or Compact RN license must be held at the time of submission.
• Proficiency in Epic is mandatory.

Required Skills

• Strong neuro critical care experience.
• Ventilator management.
• IV drip titration.
• Telemetry monitoring.
• Conscious sedation.
• Dysrhythmia recognition and management.
• Emergency response and critical care management.

Required Certifications

• BLS certification (American Heart Association only).
• ACLS certification (American Heart Association only).
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
