Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our medical-surgical telemetry unit. This role requires a commitment to patient care for a variety of medical conditions in a fast-paced environment.

Shift Information

• Shift Type: Nights
• Shift Hours: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

Unit Information

• Unit: 2 West – Med Surg/Tele
• Unit Type: Medical Surgical / Telemetry
• Number of Beds: 90 (double occupancy)
• Nurse-Patient Ratios:
  • Days: 1:5-6
  • Nights: 1:6
• Common Diagnoses: Pneumonia, COPD, AKI, and post-operative care

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive patient care and support in a medical-surgical tele unit.
• Monitor and assess patients’ conditions and vital signs.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered.
• Document patient information accurately using Epic EMR.
• Participate in unit orientation and continuous education programs.

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 2 years as a Registered Nurse, with at least 1 year of experience in a specialty setting.
• Required Certifications: BLS Certification (ACLS preferred).
• Proficiency: Epic EMR required and recent experience.
• Experience in Trauma Level I/II setting preferred.

Additional Information

• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Typically 2 out of 3 holidays
• Floating Requirements: Med-Surg, stable low acuity in ICU
• Scrub Color: Navy Blue
• Orientation: Includes one NEO, one clinical education/EPIC, and one day on the floor.
