Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This position offers a unique opportunity to care for critically ill neonates and infants in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.

Shift Details

• 3×12-hour shifts, either variable shifts or straight nights
• Must work 2 out of 3 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s
• Full flexibility required to work weekends

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care to NICU patients, including post-operative care
• Utilize high acuity skills for neonates, including managing ventilators and specialty gases
• Monitor and administer medications, including IV vasopressors
• Perform line care, including PICC lines, Broviacs, and umbilical lines
• Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Float to Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit (CTICU) as needed

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a Level 4 NICU
• Strong surgical experience from a Level 3 NICU may be considered
• Current California RN license required or pending with ETA
• Certifications: BLS and Advanced NRP required; PALS preferred

Special Requirements

• Experience with ventilators, including oscillators and conventional ventilators
• Proficiency in managing complex patients with multiple drips and line changes
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
