Pulmonary Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C)

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Pulmonary Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C) to join our team. This position offers a stable weekday schedule with opportunities for permanent placement based on performance and fit.

Schedule

• 5×8 hours, 08:00 – 17:00 (Monday – Friday)
• No weekends or on-call responsibilities

Experience Requirements

• A minimum of 6 months experience is required, with a preference for candidates who have 1 year of experience in an adult outpatient/pulmonary clinic setting.

Key Skills and Responsibilities

• Vital Signs:
  • Measure and record height, weight, and vital signs
  • Perform pulse oximetry
• Preparation for Examination:
  • Record patient history, medications, and allergies
• Set Up and Assist with Procedures:
  • Support nebulizer treatments
• Injections:
  • Administer immunizations and intramuscular injections
• Specimen Collection:
  • Label specimens, including sputum samples
• Laboratory Tests:
  • Perform rapid strep tests
• Office Duties:
  • Complete authorization forms
  • Prepare patient charts
  • Handle pharmacy calls and patient refill requests
  • Stock and maintain supplies
• Professional Knowledge and Skills:
  • Administer medications and TB tests
  • Conduct follow-up phone calls with patients
  • Room patients efficiently

Special Procedures/Unit Details

• Conduct 6-minute walk testing, spirometry, and FeNO testing.

Additional Information

• First-time applicants will be considered, provided experience is recent (within the last 6 months).
• No floating between units; consistent location every day.

Charting System

Experience with EPIC is required.
