Job Description
Maternal Fetal Medicine Sonographer
General Overview
This role involves working in a specialized setting focused on maternal and fetal medicine. The sonographer will be responsible for performing detailed ultrasounds and collaborating with healthcare professionals to monitor high-risk pregnancies.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct between 7-9 detailed ultrasounds daily, providing expert imaging of maternal and fetal conditions.
- Effectively report findings to maternal-fetal medicine physicians.
- Assist with various procedures including amniocentesis, amnio reduction, chorionic villus sampling (CVS), and percutaneous umbilical blood sampling (PUBS).
- Ensure high-quality imaging for patients presenting with high-risk conditions.
Shifts and Schedule
The role requires a standard 5×8 days schedule, with no weekend or night shifts, and no major holiday commitments.
Qualifications
- Active certifications: BLS, ARDMS OB/GYN, and NT required.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in obstetrics and gynecology ultrasound.
- Outpatient experience is essential.
- Fetal echocardiography skills are required.
- Proficiency in using Epic software is essential.
- Ability to float within scope as necessary to meet facility needs.
