Job Summary
This position involves responsibilities in labor and delivery, postpartum care, newborn nursery, and pre-transition care for newborns. This role is essential for providing high-quality healthcare services to patients in various stages of motherhood and newborn care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive care to laboring mothers, ensuring a 1:1 patient ratio during labor.
- Administer postpartum care and support to mothers and their newborns.
- Assist in the nursery, offering specialized care for newborns.
- Conduct patient assessments and collaborate with healthcare teams for optimal care delivery.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation using electronic health records (EHR), specifically CPM and MEDHOST.
Qualifications
- Must be a Registered Nurse with current licensure to practice in Tennessee.
- Required certifications include ACLS, AWHONN, BLS, NRP, and PALS.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in OB, labor and delivery, and nursery care is required.
- Strong knowledge of intrapartum and postpartum care, as well as nursery practices.
- Must successfully pass the Tennessee Abuse Registry check prior to the start date.
Work Schedule
This position requires availability for the night shift from 19:00 to 07:30, with a guarantee of 36 hours per week.
Weekend work is required on an every other basis and as needed.
