Registered Nurse (RN) – Telemetry
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in telemetry to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cardiac care and telemetry nursing, with a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and assess patients in telemetry units, ensuring accurate readings and timely interventions.
- Administer IV cardiac medications and manage continuous infusions.
- Provide care and management for stroke patients, demonstrating familiarity with CVA protocols.
- Utilize Epic for electronic charting and documentation.
- Maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-5.
- Review and interpret cardiac rhythms, passing a hospital proctored test with specific accuracy requirements.
Qualifications
- Current New York State nursing license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification can be obtained prior to starting.
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year of recent telemetry or stepdown experience.
- Experience managing critical drips and familiarity with telemetry populations is highly preferred.
- Flu vaccine or exemption required.
- Local travel is restricted to candidates residing outside a 50-mile radius from the area.
Shift Information
This position involves night shifts consisting of three 12-hour shifts per week, from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
