Job Description
Registered Nurse – Emergency Room
Position Information:
- Shift: 3×12, Midshift (1200-0030)
- Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
- Call Requirements: To be discussed during interview
Licenses: NV RN license required prior to start
Required Certifications:
- AHA BLS
- ACLS
- TNCC
- ENPC or PALS
Experience Required: Minimum 2 years of Emergency Room experience. Prior travel experience of one 13-week assignment is required.
Additional Comments:
- Travelers may be required to float based on organizational needs, aligned with competency levels.
- May be required to work on major holidays and is expected to pick up one additional shift every four weeks.
- There is potential for being called off without penalty for low census within the 13-week contract period, which may involve full or partial shifts.
- Schedule may vary based on department needs and may include weekends, holidays, and some call shifts.
Position Purpose: This role provides optimal patient care by utilizing nursing knowledge and skills within the context of the nursing process. The Registered Nurse is accountable for individualized patient outcomes over the entire episode of care, offering comprehensive nursing services to adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients, including their families or caregivers.
Nature and Scope: The position involves diagnosing and treating human responses to health problems, ensuring optimal patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The incumbent demonstrates an understanding of the cognitive and psychosocial needs specific to the populations served and meets the quality standards set by the unit or department.
Continuous mental effort is essential to provide safe, optimal patient care. This position actively interacts with internal and external contacts, exercising judgment and making decisions critical to patient outcomes.
General Comments: This is a busy and fast-paced environment, serving a broad geographic area as a Level II trauma center. The facility manages a high volume of ER and trauma patients annually, providing advanced care backed by state-of-the-art facilities and technologies.
