Registered Nurse (RN) – NICU

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse specializing in Neonatal Intensive Care (NICU). This role involves providing comprehensive care for critically ill newborns and neonates in a fast-paced environment. The position requires strong clinical skills and a firm understanding of various patient diagnoses and treatments within the NICU setting.

Shift Details

• Available shifts: 4×12 hours (19:00 – 07:30) or 3×12 hours (with call).
• Weekend coverage: Every other weekend unless needs change.
• Float may be required to other NICU units or facilities as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to neonates requiring intensive care.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
• Monitor patient vitals and respond to any changes in condition.
• Perform special procedures, including full body cooling and tracheostomy management.
• Utilize specialized medical equipment, such as ventilators, incubators, and feeding pumps.
• Document patient care and clinical observations using EPIC.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of NICU II and III experience required.
• Current certifications: BLS, NRP, STABLE.
• Active nursing license in SC.
• At least 1 year of experience with EPIC documentation system.

• Care for patients with conditions including:
• Abdominal wall defects
• Hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE)
• Respiratory distress syndrome (RDS)
• Drug exposure/withdrawal
• Hypoglycemia
• Sepsis
• Tracheoesophageal fistula (TEF)
• Duodenal atresia
• Diaphragmatic hernia
• Urethral stenosis
• Myelomeningocele
• Retinopathy of prematurity (ROP)

• B Braun and Infinity feeding pumps

• Draeger Caleo and radiant warmers
• External shunt
• Ostomy management
