L&D Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) with 4-5 years of experience to join a dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills in obstetrics and gynecology and be adept in handling both routine and complex cases in a labor and delivery setting.

Unit Overview

• Unit Type: Labor & Delivery
• Common Patient Diagnoses:
  • Ante-partum, intra-partum, and post-partum patients
  • Gynecological patients
  • Newborn care
• Specialty Equipment: OBIX (integrated with Stork for information management)
• Patient Capacity:
  • Total Beds: 18
  • Triage Beds: 3
  • Antepartum Beds: 2
  • Operating Rooms for C-Sections: 2
  • Recovery Beds: 3
  • L&D Beds: 8

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to obstetric patients throughout the labor and delivery process.
• Utilize clinical judgment in monitoring and responding to patient needs during ante-partum, intra-partum, and post-partum stages.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Float to other units as needed based on patient care requirements.

Qualifications

• Possession of a current and active RN license in New York.
• BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications are required and must remain current.
• Travel experience is necessary.
• Experience with EMR systems, specifically EPIC and Stork.
• Completion of skills checklist matching the specialty.
• Must be flexible to work a variety of shifts, including both days and nights.
