Pharmacist

Position Overview

We are seeking experienced Pharmacists to join our dedicated Acute Care Pharmacy team. The ideal candidates will be responsible for coordinating workflow in the central pharmacy, verifying medication products, and overseeing pharmacy operations.

Shift Details

• Shift: Weekend Days, 0700-1900 Friday – Sunday
• Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee workflow in the central pharmacy.
• Check medication products, including IVs, premade IVs, creams, and insulin pens.
• Ensure code carts are restocked correctly.
• Utilize EPIC dispense prep to verify and check medications and other pharmaceutical items.
• Direct pharmacy technicians as needed to ensure efficiency and accuracy in operations.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Missouri Pharmacist Licensure.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA is required.
• Minimum of 1 year experience preferred; new graduates are also considered.

Additional Information

• Training will consist of 2-3 weeks, depending on the pharmacist’s capabilities.
• Pharmacists will work on-site 100% of the time.
• The pharmacists will have oversight of pharmacy technicians but will not supervise other pharmacists.
• Potential for extensions beyond the initial assignment length based on performance.

Work Environment

The Acute Care Pharmacy team consists of a supportive environment with 5 pharmacists and 10 technicians on day shift, and 2 pharmacists with 5-6 technicians on evening shift. This role serves as the primary pharmacist overseeing central pharmacy operations while other pharmacists focus on order review within the electronic health record (EHR).
