Pharmacist

Position Overview

The Pharmacist position focuses on acute care pharmacy operations, primarily responsible for product verification, medication dispensing, and oversight of pharmacy technicians in a central pharmacy environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate workflow in the central pharmacy.
• Verify medications, including IVs, premade IVs, creams, insulin pens, and other preparations as needed.
• Ensure proper restocking of code carts and maintain inventory integrity.
• Oversee the workflow of surrounding pharmacy technicians and direct tasks as necessary.
• Utilize EPIC dispense prep to verify and check medications and related items.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Missouri Pharmacist Licensure.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA required.
• A minimum of 1 year of experience is preferred; new graduates are welcomed to apply.
• Familiarity with EPIC electronic medical records system is a plus.

Work Environment

This position requires the pharmacist to be on-site 100% of the time, actively engaging in daily pharmacy operations and patient care coordination.

Team Dynamics

The central pharmacy team consists of multiple pharmacists and technicians, ensuring support and a collaborative work environment.

Training and Development

Training will encompass 2-3 weeks and will focus primarily on product verification processes, tailored to each pharmacist’s learning curve.

Schedule and Commitment

This position is scheduled predominantly for weekend shifts, guaranteeing 36 hours per week over a 13-week assignment. There is a strong likelihood for extension based on performance.

Additional Information

Flu vaccination or an approved exemption is required for all travelers during the flu season from November 1 to April 1.
