Pharmacist

This position involves working in an acute care pharmacy setting, primarily responsible for product verification and coordinating workflows within a central pharmacy environment. The role includes overseeing medication checks, including IVs, premade IVs, creams, and insulin pens, as well as ensuring that code carts are stocked correctly.

Position Information:

• Department: Acute Care Pharmacy
• Shift: Evenings, 14:30 – 01:00, 7 on/7 off (Thursday to Wednesday)
• Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Weekend Hours: As required

Qualifications:

• Required Licensure: Missouri Pharmacist Licensure
• Required Certifications: BLS from AHA only
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year preferred; new graduates will be considered

Role Responsibilities:

• Utilize EPIC dispense prep to verify and check medications, kits, crash carts, and prepack items as needed.
• Coordinate pharmacy workflow, ensuring that all operational tasks are completed efficiently.
• Oversee the work of pharmacy technicians, providing guidance on task priorities.
• Participate in training sessions of 2-3 weeks as needed to ensure familiarity with pharmacy protocols and systems.
• Manage daily operations within the central pharmacy, ensuring compliance and safety.

Work Environment:

The pharmacy team consists of five pharmacists and ten technicians on the day shift and two pharmacists along with five to six technicians on the evening shift. The pharmacist in this position will have a leadership role in managing central pharmacy operations.
