Registered Nurse (RN) – Med Surg Neuro

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Med Surg Neuro team. This position involves providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment, focusing on Neurosciences.

Position Information

• Role: RN
• Specialty: Med Surg Neuro
• Number of Openings: 1
• Shift: Night (7 PM – 7 AM); block requests are considered, but not guaranteed
• Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
• Weekend Requirements: As needed
• Call Requirements: N/A

Unit Information

• Number of Beds: 17
• Patient Ratios: 1:6
• Equipment: Standard, including IV pumps
• EMR: EPIC

Qualifications

• Required Certifications: BLS; NIH certification can be completed during orientation
• Experience: Minimum 1 year required
• Float Requirements: Customary floating to Med Surg and Progressive care units

Hiring Profile

• Must Have Skills/Experience:
  • Charge experience or willingness to learn and take on charge duties
• Preferred Skills/Experience:
  • Experience in Neuro and Stroke care is highly preferred
• Type of Patients: Medical and Surgical Neuro patients, including conditions like Parkinson’s, Stroke, and lumbar issues. No trauma cases.
• Personality Fit: Must be a team player with good communication skills, and dedicated to positive patient outcomes.

Work Expectations

• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (with potential extension up to 26 weeks upon request)
• Requested Time Off: Up to 5 days in each 13 weeks can be automatically approved; additional requests subject to approval.
• Weekends: Standard expectation of working every other full weekend (Saturday and Sunday), unless otherwise approved.
• Holidays: Candidates should anticipate working at least one major holiday each season.
