Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate must possess strong clinical skills and a commitment to providing high-quality care in a fast-paced environment.

Unit Information

• Unit Type: Emergency Room (ED)
• Number of Beds: 18 Beds (Fast track staffed with midlevel’s & LVNs)
• Patient Ratios: 1 to 4, unless ICU patient, which would be 1 to 2
• EMR: Cerner
• Charge Nurse: Shift manager & resource nurse
• Nurse Aides: ED Techs are EMTs or aides from other units
• Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts in a 4-week schedule (Fri/Sat for nights & Sat/Sun for days)
• Holidays: 1 major & 1 minor
• Scrub Color: Navy blue
• Telemedicine: Phillips
• Ventilators: Available
• Hospitalist or Intensivist In-House: Yes (only use MDs in the ER)
• Respiratory Therapy: Available 24/7
• Pharmacy Services: Available 24/7 & Omnicell
• Floating: Possible between multiple locations; advance notice will be provided
• Orientation: 2 shifts at the primary location & 1 shift at another location

Patient Demographics

The Emergency Room sees a diverse patient population, including a higher percentage of correctional patients and individuals from the homeless and indigent populations. Please note that OB cases are transferred to another facility, and cardiac patients are stabilized and transferred as well.

Additional Information

This position requires a strong commitment to teamwork and the ability to thrive in a busy environment, with an average of 100 patients treated daily. It is important to note that this should be the individual’s primary job, and scheduling flexibility is essential.
