LDRP Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a dedicated LDRP Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Labor and Delivery unit. This position involves providing quality care in a dynamic environment with a focus on obstetric and neonatal patients.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in the Labor and Delivery setting, ensuring adherence to AWHONN guidelines for nurse-patient ratios.
• Monitor and interpret fetal heart rate strips, utilizing critical thinking skills to ensure patient safety.
• Titrate drips as required, including common medications such as pitocin, insulin, and magnesium.
• Assist with couplet care, ensuring a supportive environment for mothers and their newborns.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including charge nurses and nursing assistants, to enhance patient care.
• Float to Medsurg and ER as needed, demonstrating flexibility within your skill set.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery nursing.
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS, NRP, and STABLE certifications preferred.
• Proven ability to read and interpret fetal strips is essential.
• Strong critical thinking and communication skills are necessary for success in this role.
• Experience with quality metrics and patient care protocols preferred.

Shift and Scheduling

• 12-hour shifts, with day shift availability.
• 36 hours per week, required to work every third weekend and every other holiday.
• No self-scheduling; block scheduling is available.
• Three shifts of unit-specific orientation will be provided.

Additional Information

• Adaptive to change and ability to communicate effectively are important attributes for success in this role.
• The unit includes a total of 15 beds: 7 for labor & delivery and 8 for postpartum care.
• 1 OR suite available for C-sections on the unit.
• No anesthesia or OB/neonatologist in-house 24/7.
• RT equipment (ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, high flow) is available for use.
• Scrub color will be maroon, and uniforms will be provided on-site.
